(More customer reviews)We use this unit to filter out rain water that we capture which is our primary source of water for our off the grid home. The carbon filter catches most contaminants and the ultraviolet lamp kills any organisms that might find their way in from the environment. The unit uses LEDs to keep track of the filter status and the ultraviolet light only turns on while the water is running through the unit so it doesn't use a whole lot of water. This is easily one of the best filtration systems out there.
