(More customer reviews)We purchased this as a pre-filter for a water softener and for removal of chlorine from our city water supply. It does both well. It was fairly easy to install. Seems larger in person than in pictures. Much bigger than a 10" model. I purchased a large angle bracket from Lowes and lag bolted it to the wall for support. I'm estimating a cartridge lifespan of about six months based on our water usage. We've been using it for a couple months now. Our showers and baths no longer smell like a swimming pool. Our skin doesn't feel as dried out and itchy as before. The replacement cartridges are reasonable (about $45) here on Amazon.
