Using the test meter that comes with the pitcher my water measured 386 before being filtered, after the water was filtered the reading was 0. The filters last me about 3months before needing to be replaced. The filters are the best thing since sliced bread! Now, with THAT being said, when you order the pitcher and filter THROW the PITCHER in the trash, use the filter with another pitcher. I NEVER used the spicket on the pitcher but three days after filling the pitcher the spicket BLEW OUT of the pitcher leaving me with a mess. I just set the filter and holder on top of a different pitcher. These filters make drinking water enjoyable again.
